The Parable of the Vineyard reaches its climax when Jesus reveals the extraordinary patience and love of God.

After the tenants rejected, abused, and killed many of the owner’s servants, the owner made one final appeal.

“He had yet one son, his beloved…” (Mark 12:6)

This beloved son represents Jesus Christ.

Throughout history, God sent prophets and messengers to call people back to Himself. Again and again, humanity resisted God’s authority and rejected His messengers. Yet God continued reaching out in love.

Finally, He sent His Son.

The sending of Jesus reveals the heart of our Heavenly Father. He is not eager to judge. He is eager to save. His desire is not destruction but redemption.

Yet the tenants saw the Son and said, “This is the heir; come, let us kill him.”

Their response illustrates the essence of human rebellion. Sin is humanity attempting to remove God from His rightful place and establish itself as the ultimate authority.

But God’s plan could not be stopped.

The Son they rejected became the Savior they desperately needed.

Jesus quoted Psalm 118 when He declared:

“The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner.”

The cornerstone determined the strength, direction, and stability of the entire structure. Though rejected by men, Jesus became the foundation upon which salvation rests.

The cross was not an accident.

The crucifixion was not a failure.

The rejection of Jesus was part of God’s plan to redeem humanity.

Today, people still respond differently to the Gospel. Some reject it. Some oppose it. Some mock it.

But others are hungry.

Others are searching for truth.

Others are waiting for someone to tell them about the Savior who loves them.

That is why evangelism remains essential.

We continue sharing because we never know which heart the Holy Spirit is preparing. We continue speaking because eternity is at stake. We continue loving because God first loved us.

The Owner is still seeking His harvest.

The Son is still saving lives.

And the Church is still called to proclaim the Good News.

Declaration

Today I declare that Jesus Christ is the Cornerstone of my life. I surrender every area of my heart to His authority. I declare that I am a bold ambassador for Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit to share the Gospel with love, courage, and conviction. I will not be intimidated by rejection or discouraged by opposition. I will faithfully proclaim the message of salvation and trust God to bring in His harvest.

Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for Your incredible love demonstrated through the gift of Your beloved Son. Thank You that even when humanity rejected You, You continued pursuing us with mercy and grace.

Lord Jesus, I declare You are the Cornerstone of my life. Build my thoughts, decisions, relationships, and purpose upon Your truth. Remove any area where I have attempted to take ownership of what rightfully belongs to You.

Fill me with the power of the Holy Spirit and give me boldness to share the Gospel. Help me remain faithful when I encounter opposition and compassionate toward those who have not yet received Your truth.

Open doors for me to reach those who are hungry for You. Use my life as a testimony of Your grace and a witness to Your saving power.

May many come to know You as Lord and Savior through the words and actions You empower me to share.

In Jesus’ mighty name,

Amen.
