One of the greatest challenges Christians face is the fear of rejection when sharing the Gospel.

In Mark 12:1-5, Jesus tells the Parable of the Vineyard. The owner planted the vineyard, leased it to tenants, and then sent servants to collect the harvest. Instead of honoring the owner, the tenants abused, wounded, and even killed the messengers.

This parable reveals a profound spiritual truth. The vineyard represents God’s world. The tenants represent humanity. The owner represents God. The servants represent God’s messengers.

Human beings often want the benefits of God’s creation while rejecting His authority. We act as if we own our lives, our resources, and our future when in reality we are stewards entrusted with what belongs to Him.

This rebellion explains much of the hostility Christians encounter when sharing the Gospel. The message of Jesus challenges self-rule and calls people to surrender to the true Owner.

Jesus warned His followers in Matthew 10:16 that they would be sent out as sheep among wolves. Evangelism has never been a risk-free assignment. Throughout history, God’s messengers have faced rejection, persecution, and ridicule.

Yet hostility is only part of the story.

There is also hunger.

Many people are searching for truth, purpose, forgiveness, and hope. The difficulty is that we often cannot identify the hungry until we are willing to speak.

Every time you share your faith, you risk rejection. But you also create an opportunity for God to change someone’s eternity.

The Apostle Paul once persecuted Christians, yet God transformed him into one of the greatest evangelists the world has ever known. What appeared to be hostility was actually a heart God was preparing for transformation.

As believers, we are not responsible for people’s responses. We are responsible for our obedience.

The harvest belongs to God.

The people belong to God.

The results belong to God.

Our responsibility is simply to go and tell.

Declaration

Today I declare that I am a bold witness for Jesus Christ. I will not allow fear, rejection, or hostility to silence my testimony. I declare that God has called me to be a messenger of hope, salvation, and truth. The Holy Spirit empowers me to share the Gospel with courage and compassion. I trust God with the results and believe He is preparing hearts to receive His message.

Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for entrusting me with the greatest message ever given—the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Forgive me for the times I have allowed fear of rejection or criticism to keep me silent.

Fill me afresh with the power of the Holy Spirit. Give me boldness to speak when You open doors and wisdom to recognize opportunities to share Your love.

Help me remember that every person I encounter is someone You love deeply. Give me compassion for the lost and courage to proclaim the truth regardless of the response.

Lord, prepare hearts to receive Your message. Let my words be guided by Your Spirit and bring glory to Your name. Use me as Your messenger in this generation.
