No Graven Images in the Temple

In the Old Testament, God strictly forbade graven images. Idolatry was a direct violation of His holiness and His rightful place as the one true God.

Today, idolatry looks different—but it still exists.

Anything that takes priority over God becomes an idol. Sin itself becomes a graven image when it is allowed to remain in the life of a believer.

1 Peter 1:15–16 calls us to be holy in all our conduct. This standard has not changed.

As the temple of God, we must remove anything that competes with His presence.

Declaration

I remove every idol from my life. God alone is exalted in my heart. I walk in holiness and purity.

Prayer

Father, search my heart and reveal anything that has taken Your place. I lay it down and choose You above all else. Cleanse me and make me holy. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
