In today’s culture, the Gospel is often presented as a lifestyle upgrade rather than a rescue mission. Many are told that following Jesus will make life easier, happier, and more fulfilling—without ever being shown why salvation is necessary in the first place.

Scripture presents a different approach.

The Law of God was never intended to save humanity. It was given to reveal God’s perfection and our inability to meet His standard. Romans 3:20 makes this clear: “By the law is the knowledge of sin.”

The Law functions like a mirror. It exposes guilt, silences self-justification, and prepares the heart for grace. Without this preparation, the message of forgiveness loses its meaning.

This explains why so many professions of faith fail to endure. Jesus warned in Matthew 13 that seed sown on shallow soil cannot take root. When hearts are not prepared by conviction, faith often collapses under pressure.

Paul wrote in Galatians 3:24 that the Law is our tutor that leads us to Christ. The Law humbles us so that grace can lift us.

God’s warning to Ezekiel underscores the seriousness of this responsibility. In Ezekiel 3:17–19, God declares that failure to warn the wicked carries accountability. Love does not remain silent in the face of danger. Love speaks truth.

Once the Law has done its work, the Gospel becomes radiant: forgiveness of sins through the blood of Jesus Christ. Grace shines brightest against the backdrop of God’s holiness.

If we desire lasting fruit, we must return to biblical evangelism—preparing the soil, proclaiming truth, and trusting the Holy Spirit to bring true repentance and saving faith.

DECLARATION

I declare that I will not shrink back from truth. I will preach the full counsel of God—Law and grace, conviction and forgiveness. I will be faithful to prepare hearts for salvation and trust the Holy Spirit to bring lasting fruit. I choose obedience over comfort and truth over applause. In Jesus’ name, amen.

CLOSING PRAYER

Father God, Give us boldness to speak Your truth in love. Teach us to prepare hearts the way Your Word instructs—without compromise and without fear. Let conviction lead to repentance, repentance lead to salvation, and salvation produce lasting fruit. Make us faithful watchmen who warn, love, and point people to the cross. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
