“Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time.” —1 Peter 5:6
The Lord’s Prayer concludes with a declaration of trusting faith: “For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever” (Matthew 6:13). These words remind us that even when our circumstances seem uncertain, God’s rule is unshakable.
In Acts 1:6–7, the disciples asked Jesus if He would restore the Kingdom right then. His answer redirected their perspective: “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority.” Instead of focusing on when, Jesus reminded them of what—they would soon receive power from the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8) to live and walk as witnesses of His Kingdom.
That is what trusting faith looks like. It’s not passive—it’s active. It’s a confident assurance that God’s Kingdom is advancing, even when we don’t see it yet. 1 Peter 5:6 urges us to humble ourselves under God’s mighty hand, trusting that in His time, He will lift us up.
Trusting faith means resting in God’s greatness:
- “Yours is the kingdom”—all rule belongs to Him.
- “Yours is the power”—His strength sustains us.
- “Yours is the glory”—the final victory is His alone.
Friend, whatever you are facing today, declare these words with confidence: “For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.” God’s timing is perfect, His Spirit empowers you now, and His glory will be revealed in your life.
Declaration
I will trust in the Lord’s timing and authority. His Kingdom reigns over every situation in my life, and His power sustains me daily.
Prayer
Father, I thank You that Yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Help me to trust You in every season, even when I don’t see the answers right away. Teach me to rest in Your authority, walk in Your Spirit’s power, and live for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
