“You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” – Mark 12:31

This may be one of the hardest commands Jesus ever gave us—not because we don’t understand it, but because we do.

It’s easy to love God. He’s full of grace, kindness, and mercy. But Jesus didn’t stop there—He told us to love others the same way we love Him—with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength.

But how do we love those who stand against what we believe? Those who curse us, hate our values, promote ungodliness, and even attack the name of Jesus?

We love them anyway.

Jesus said in Matthew 5:44: “Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you.”

That’s not natural—it’s supernatural. It takes the Holy Spirit working in us.

  • Even when it’s inconvenient…
  • Even when it’s offensive…
  • Even when it’s painful…

We love like Jesus.

Not through argument, not through hate, and not through silence—but through truth spoken in love, prayer lifted in faith, and kindness that reflects the heart of our Savior.

The world may hate us—but we are called to show them Christ.

Affirmation:

Today, I choose to love others the way I love God—fully, boldly, and without compromise. I will bless my enemies, pray for the lost, and walk in the love and truth of Jesus Christ.
