“Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.”
When Jesus taught us to pray, “Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven,” He was giving us more than words to repeat. He was giving us a responsibility. Prayer is not a passive ritual—it is an active calling to partner with God in bringing His kingdom into every area of life.
From the very beginning, God entrusted mankind with dominion over the earth (Genesis 1:28). But through sin, that authority was surrendered to the enemy (1 John 5:19). The good news is that Jesus came to restore what was lost. At the cross, He defeated the powers of darkness (Colossians 2:15), making it possible for us to live again under the rule of God’s kingdom.
When Jesus healed the sick, cast out demons, and preached the gospel, He was showing us what the kingdom of God looks like in action. And now, through prayer, He calls us to carry that kingdom forward. Praying “Your kingdom come” means we are inviting God’s power, presence, and purpose into our homes, our communities, and our nations.
This is responsible faith. It recognizes that while the power is God’s, the privilege and responsibility to pray belongs to us. Faith that sits idle is incomplete, but faith that prays, believes, and acts releases heaven on earth.
Affirmative Declaration
I declare that I will live with responsible faith. I will partner with God in prayer, bringing His kingdom and His will into every part of my life and the world around me.
Closing Prayer
Father, we thank You that Your kingdom cannot be shaken. We surrender our lives to Your will and ask that You would use us as vessels of Your kingdom on earth. Teach us to pray with responsible faith, to advance Your purposes, and to see heaven invade our homes, families, and communities. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
