“But as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, ‘Be holy, for I am holy.’”
When Jesus taught us to pray, He said: “Hallowed be Your name.” These words, often repeated but rarely unpacked, are a call to worship — not as ritual, but as transformation.
The Greek word hagiazo means “to make holy.” In worship, we set apart God’s name, declaring His holiness. Revelation 4:8 paints a heavenly picture of angels crying, “Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty.” And Psalm 22:3 tells us that God is enthroned upon the praises of His people. Worship literally builds a throne for God in the middle of our circumstances.
Worship is not just about honoring God; it’s about being transformed in His presence. Paul reminds us in 2 Corinthians 3:18 that as we behold the glory of the Lord, we are “transformed into the same image from glory to glory.” Holiness is not about appearance, rules, or rituals. Holiness means wholeness — and God’s wholeness fills what is lacking in us.
When we worship, God’s holiness invades our brokenness. His Spirit transforms our weakness into strength, our doubt into faith, our emptiness into fullness.
Let’s make worship our lifestyle — morning, noon, and night. Not just in church, but in our homes, workplaces, and everyday lives. As we hallow His name, His presence transforms us into His likeness.
Affirmative Declaration
I declare that as I worship the Lord, His holiness fills me, His Spirit transforms me, and His power works through me. I am being changed from glory to glory in Jesus’ name.
Prayer
Father, we hallow Your holy name. Thank You for inviting us into Your presence through worship. Transform our hearts, renew our minds, and shape us into the likeness of Jesus. Let Your holiness bring completeness to every broken area of our lives. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
